"The L.A. Watts Summer Games has had a positive influence on youth for over 40 years. HBSC is proud that its players have chosen to play a leadership role in the soccer tournament. So deep is the Club's support that many more HBSC players will volunteer their time during the tournament, fulfilling their commitment to the Club's call to duty," said HBSC President Brian Dragich.

The four HBSC players on the 2009 L.A. Watts Summer Games Soccer Tournament Management Team include Jesse Torres (Chairman and HBSC Over-40 team), Joe Cartlidge (Vice-Chair and HBSC Premier team), Patrick Moriarity (Vice-Chair and HBSC Over-30 team) and Miranda Acevedo (Vice-Chair and Women's Premier team).

The mission of the L.A. Watts Summer Games is to build bridges of understanding among high school youth. The Games strive to promote positive interaction, respect and achievement through spirited competition in athletics.
