Hermosa Beach, CA - The Hermosa Beach Soccer Club (www.HermosaBeachSoccerClub.com) today announced that on March 2nd, its Men’s Over-30 team clinched the South Bay Peninsula Soccer League’s (www.sbpsl.com) Over-30 League Championship.
Founded in 2000, the Hermosa Beach Soccer Club has developed into one of Southern California’s leading soccer clubs. With Premier, Over-30, Over-40 and Women’s Premier teams, HBSC is home to some of the best soccer talent in Los Angeles.
“The past couple years we have come within several points of the title. We are excited to have locked in the title with three games left in the regular season,” said Jesse Torres, Club founder and Over-30 player. “The SBPSL is home to the best Over-30 clubs in Los Angeles. To win the league title with nearly a month left in the season speaks to the team’s commitment to the long and challenging season.”
“I am proud of our Over-30 side. The team has consistently finished at the top of the League table and is highly regarded by teams across the City,” said HBSC President and Premier team player Brian Dragich. “The Over-30s have a team with extensive depth at every position, giving it consistency over the long 10-month season.”
With the league title under its belt, HBSC’s Over-30 team is also expected to recapture the post-season tournament trophy, bringing to an end the 2007/2008 season. HBSC will take a brief break before competing in several summer tournaments, including San Diego, Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz.
