Mike grew up in Manhattan Beach and played his club ball with the Manhattan Beach Hurricanes.  He was trained by former US National Team goalie David Vanole from middle school through High school. He attended Mira Costa High School  where he was an All Ocean League Selection his Junior and Senior seasons.  While at Sonoma State University his squad earned national recognition in 1995 and 1996.  He has since moved back to Manhattan Beach where he is currently a Marketing Associate for SYSCO foodservices.  On the side Mike is a free lance goalkeeper coach.  Mike enjoys long walks on the beach and cherishes the fact that he shares the same birthday as Eric "Officer Poncherelo" Estrada.  Also, played on the same high school team as fellow teammates Brian Dragich, Greg Eddy and Julio Rosales.
